Brown’s timely bribe
Arriving home this evening, and my three year old son was keen to show me his new ‘bookstart’ box that he had been given at nursery today. This is a Government initiative where all young children in the country are given a box of books, pencils and other goodies, all paid for by the taxpayer. Sorry Gordon, I’d already voted – you should have posted them out earlier.

Is anyone else struck by the irony of Gordon being a drag on Livingstone's electoral prospects? strange times indeed.
It's a shame you are so mis-informed. It is not a government initiative, Bookstart is a 16 year old national programme that aims to put free books into the hands of babies and toddlers to foster a love of book sharing and all the joys that this brings. I hope that your child grows up to be more informed than you after receiving their treasure chest full of love books and gifts.
